The name Spaniel comes from the word Spain — where the breed possibly originated. Modern Spaniels evolved in Britain. Used by hunters to find game undercover, the first Spaniel arrived in the States on the Mayflower. Since then, the Spaniel has evolved into many varieties and has always retained its popularity. Spaniels are wonderful companions — terrific with families, and all-around great dogs who are easily adaptable. |
