The Scottish Terrier, as we find it today, has been bred in purity for many years. The first show to have a class for Scottish Terriers was at Birmingham, England, in 1860. The essentials of this standard have been retained in all the later standards, only minor changes having been introduced. There have been thousands of importations and many notable breeders have carried on the work. Probably none of the early blood is to be found today Nevertheless, these early dogs must take their place in history. |
