The Newfoundland is a large, usually black, breed of dog originally used as a working dog in Newfoundland. It is widely opinionated that this breed has greater physical strength than any other dog species. The Landseer is a dog with an incredibly good temperament, courageous, generous, intelligent, human. Lord Byron wrote of one of this breed: “... Courage without ferocity, and all the virtues of a man without his vices.” The Landseer is a gentle breed and enjoys close relations with his master and his master’s family. They are gentle with children — although not always the easiest to train. |
