American, 20th Century-
William G. Schnelle was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1897. He studied painting at the Art Students League and also at the Pratt Institute in New York City. Schnelle taught illustration in New York City High Schools and worked as a commercial illustrator. He was a member of the National Art ’s Club and exhibited at the American Water Color Society and the Albany Institute of History and Art among many other venues. William Schnelle died in 1956.
