William Barraud was a student of Abraham Cooper. He collaborated on many pieces with his younger brother Henry. The two exhibited both together and separately.
His work was shown at the Royal Academy when he was just eighteen years old. It was at the Academy where he exhibited forty-four of his paintings and fifteen of his works with Henry.
Four engravings of Greyhounds were published in The Old Sporting Magazine before his untimely death.
